“Our plans for the race are we just want to have fun. We are here following our passion and we are warriors for Ox, WFOx (Jeff Kargola). We are doing it for our fallen friend. I have recovered enough to pretty much put gear on and ride the bike off the start. I wish I was riding but Mark Samuals will do the first 80 miles and my brother will take the bike from Santo Thomas to San Matias which is 190 miles. Mark will ride from there all the way to the finish. We want to have a clean race. We don’t have some of the resources that we use to have, but we have a really great bike, really great support, and a lot of people. We are ready for the race and will defend the 1x. I have learned a lot from Johnny (Campbell). He has helped me a lot and I can still go back to him and ask him questions. We hired a Team Manager J. R. Stanley from Coast Powder Coating and he is a SCORE sponsor. Mark Samuals is also a 50% team owner. We are WFOx, it’s hard making all the decision but it’s our first year. Things will progress and we want to prove ourselves and our team to the sponsors.”

“I was prerunning in a Class 11 yesterday and had so much fun. We joked about racing it but I’m going to be flying in the helicopter tomorrow and not be on a bike.”

“There is a 5 minute gap between the start of the last trophy truck and me, so we should have some clean air for a while. Then we will start catching the back marker trophy trucks. We might have a couple bottlenecks in Urapan, but I’m hoping to be around some of the trophy trucks by then. So I’m just going to go out and run a hard pace. Between mile 175 and Mikes are where there will be quite a few cars parked.”

“I’m not really sure what I should do with my hands….Damen Jefferies will be starting the race and taking the car to race mile 70. We will do a drivers change and I will get in the car. I will take the car to San Matias. Damen will get back in the car and take it to the finish. The course is very technical in some spots and fast in others. We are a little concerned with bottlenecks since we took a rear start. We will run a good pace and hopefully finish well. “

“I’ll be racing with Ronny Wilson. We are looking to run a fast pace. The car has a lot of new parts but I know it will be fine.“

“We have made a lot of improvements on the truck. We qualified really well and know we can run with the pack. We will race a clean and smart race and hopefully finish up front.”

“We have had some challenges this week. We have spent a lot of time prerunning. We are looking to have a good race.”

“Ed Herbst is going to start the race and go to the top of Mikes, I will get in there. The first part of this race is extremely technical and very slow. The first 70 miles to Santo Thomas will be a patience game. It gets fast over to Colonet then it will be slow over to Mikes. My section should be pretty fast all the way in. We are going to drive a patient race and at about mile 250 we’ll start running.”

“Mark (Post) and I are going to race together. It’s the Baja 500 course, its pretty technical. We have a get opportunity even though we didn’t qualify so well. It’s a long long race and Mark and I have been doing this for a longtime. All together with the Herbst guys and Mark, we have get support. We are going to take a good shot at this and hopefully we will have a good finish.”

Jason Voss

“We have been down here all week. We have logging a lot of miles prerunning. I feel very comfortable with the course and hopefully we will have a great race”

Robby Gordon

“Its pretty cool starting first off the line at the Baja 500. Especially with as technical as the race course is. Last year we qualified fastest as well, I hit the water off the start and hydroplaned. Voss got in front of me. We followed him for quite a long ways. He was running extremely fast. This year hopefully we wont have the same situation and we can control the pace right from the start. We are starting at 10am and there should be a little wind by then. It will definitely be an advantage being the fist car on the road”

Justin Davis

Justin Davis

“I was really disappointed in myself with qualifying. Its important to be upfront but it is a long race. We will have to fight through the dust”
